Walking on rainbows (Only in Iceland)
Sunday, Day 3
Our third day in Iceland started with us waking up impressed by the fact that our tent hadn’t blown away during the night. The wind had calmed down and it looked like it was gonna be a warm(ish) and sunny day. So we cooked our oatmeals and coffees and packed up our gear.

Seljalandsfoss & Seljavallalaug Zwembad Thermal pool
We started our trip by heading to another waterfall called Seljalandsfoss. You can actually walk behind this waterfall, and get some amazing pictures, not to mention it’s a lot of fun. Slippery and muddy, but fun. I’m not surprised that this is also one of the most visited places in Iceland.
After that we felt like taking a swim at a thermal pool called Seljavallalaug Zwembad close by, and I can tell you that that was one pool with a pretty sweet view. The pool is situated in a canyon with a river running in the middle of it. So basically you just walk a short trail and hop into a warm pool, relax and enjoy. And this was all free of charge. Thank you Iceland!
Skogafoss
Views after views
This area makes you wanna stop the car every 5 seconds to get a picture. And it’s not great when you’re supposed to be the one focused on driving. But so far I’ve managed. But it’s definitely tough. The area is filled with high cliffs, snow and moss covered rocks and miles and miles of green fields with horses, sheep and cows. So, it is not easy to not wanna look while you’re driving.
Dyrholaey
Our last stop of the day was the Dyrholaey area. Here you can drive up to a steep hill where you will find a lighthouse and a killer view. I did not want to come down from here. That’s how beautiful it was. The hill is right by the ocean and is surrounded by other hills and a view to the popular “black beach.” I was a little surprised that there are not many fences around the cliffs, because they were actually super steep and definitely a danger zone for many selfie enthusiasts. But I guess with all the countless places Iceland has to warn people about, this one didn’t make it to the list.
